A quick update on the new Wisconsin Dartball website and apps, and how you can help in the last few weeks before we switch over.

The switchover: Thanksgiving weekend
We plan to move everything to the new website and apps over Thanksgiving weekend. All of it will be live by Saturday, November 28, or Sunday, November 29 at the latest. Until then, the current website and statistician app are still the official ones. Please keep entering your results there as usual.

Dugout is available now, and I'd like you to try it
Dugout is the new scoring app that replaces the statistician app. It's available on all three app stores:

To find it on your phone's app store for Apple iOS you can try Dartball Dugout or if that doesn't work Dugout Dartball.  Apple is still updating the store indexes.

Please install it and try it out.

Setting it up
- Sign in with the same email and password you use today. Your account has already moved to the new website.
- On the Dugout home screen, choose Team or League under "From the website" to download your team or league with its roster and schedule.
- Score your games as normal. When you're online, finished games are sent to the new website on their own.

The new website
You can see the new website now at https://dartball3.azurewebsites.net. It has been loaded with recent data as of 11/3/2026 at 3:30pm, including schedules and statistics, so you can check that your league looks right. THIS IS TEMPORARY for testing only and will be reset at go-live.

Please score in both for the next few weeks
Between now and the switchover, please score your games in both the current statistician app and Dugout. This gives you time to get comfortable with Dugout, and lets us check its results against the current system before we rely on it. If something doesn't match, looks wrong or is confusing, I want to know.

Fan Zone
The new Fan Zone app won't be available until the switchover on Apple and Android. The current Fan Zone keeps working until then but only shows the data entered via statistician app.  Amazon Kindle store does have the newest Fan Zone app that will show data from new dugout app so if using a Kindle you can check that out.

Once again you NEED to keep using Dartball Statistician until after Thanksgiving cutover.  Dartball Dugout is only available for testing purposes to allow you time to get comfortable with it.  All data created in Dugout from now until the cutover will be deleted and lost.

STILL TIME TO ENTER YOUR TEAM!

The October 24, 2026 Wausau 9 player tournament is less than 2 weeks away. I am looking for 1 or possibly 2 more teams to play that day, just to get to 12 teams. 

We have several new teams participating this year, but need to get to 12 teams to make it a great day. With 12 teams, all the teams will play between 7 and 9 games in the one day tournament, most against different opponents. The location is the same great venue as the last state tournament at the Central Wisconsin Convention Center. Please contact Scott Peterson @920-655-8348 as soon as possible if you want to enter a team. 

Teams can enter this tournament for $75 without committing to any more of the World Series of Dartball. This will also most likely be the last year of the World Series. It was designed as a 16 team tournament series, but we have only had 16 teams for one of the past 6 tournaments.

Hello Dartball Nation,

I have been very busy lately creating a whole new website for Dartball.  The hope is to create a nicer more modern looking website with a little more flare and marketing/sales type look and feel.  The other goal was to make it a little easier to get to the parts that you care about.  

Along with the new website I have also created a new app for tracking stats called Dartball Dugout, which will replace the Dartball Statistician app.  I have spent quite a lot of time on this app with the goal of making it look more modern and simplifying some things as well for the team managers.  I also have spent a good amount of time working on the tournament side to provide a better experience during tournaments.  Oh and the biggest news with the Dugout app is that it will be available on iOS devices as well as Android as it has been.

And finally because of all the above changes the Fan Zone app has been re-written as well.  The goal with this is also make it a little more modern and also to give access to more of the content you can only get via the website today making it truly the one stop shop for all your Dartball information.

One of the new design features that is available in all 3 is themes (inherits from computer/phone/browser settings or can be chosen separately).  If you prefer a background color that is black then you will love the Dark Theme.   If you prefer a white background then the Light theme is for you.  But if you preferred the green theme from Dartball Statistician that is also available as the Dartball theme in both Dugout and Fan Zone apps.

Timing on the release of all of this is still not set yet, but the plan is sometime in September.

IN NEED OF TESTERS/HELPERS

I am looking for 10 or so people that are willing look over the website and the apps and test them to help ensure a smooth transition at the time of switching over.  I require that you have the time to dedicate to this and spend some good time on them to ensure the rollout goes well.  I would estimate spending at least 5 hours over the next week or so to do this because there will be things that are found that need to be fixed or adjusted and then I need time to fix and you will want to verify them.  Please send me an email at chadkuhfuss@gmail.com if you are interested and I will get you setup to start next week.

The brackets are now available on the website via the following links or in the Fan Zone app on Android and Apple.  We have traditionally run the C bracket as the largest bracket therefore starting those games at 9:00am on Saturday, but this year we decided that it made more sense to run a larger B bracket instead because of how the averages fell therefore in our opinion making this the best way to have the most competitive tournmaent possible.  So this means that the B bracket is starting at 9:00am.  We know this a change from the past but again we as a committee felt it was the best for this year's tournament.

In the Fan Zone app when you open the brackets for the tournament there is a search box at the top of the page.  Enter a team name or part of the name an hit the enter or go  button and that team name will be highlighted throughout the bracket to help easily find your team or your favorite team.

Only one more week to get your team registered for the State Dartball tournament in Wausau on April 11-12.  We are at an odd number of mens teams right now so it would be great to get one more.  Reach out to those that you may know that have played but are not signed up and help them get a team together.

There will be a limited number of shirts available for sale at the tournament, but the company will be opening the online store again at the tournament so you will still have an opportunity to get the shirt you want no matter what during the tournament.

I am looking for a software engineer that is interested in working on the Dartball website, Statistician and Fan Zone apps. This is an opportunity to help make a difference in the Dartball community and also some extra money. This person would work with me to learn about the website and apps in order to share the workload now and eventually take over at some point. This person should have several years of programming experience. Knowledge and experience with the Microsoft development tools are needed including C#, SQL and Azure as well as React Native. The ideal person would be a dartball player but is not required.

I have no plans of stepping down from what I do in the near future but myself and the committee realize that all of this technology has become a very important part of the Dartball world and want to ensure that it can continue to exist, function and grow with the game of Dartball.
